Located in the heart of North Devon, the impressive Tarka Leisure Centre features a versatile 25m, eight-lane pool, a 20m trainer pool with adjustable floors, and an innovative interactive endless ski slope for skiers, snowboarders, and tobogganers. To support this dynamic environment, Flick Lighting was invited by Barrie Beard Electrical Contractor to work alongside Speller Metcalfe to design and deliver lighting across the Fitness Suite, Studios, Sports Hall, and Ski Slope.
Following detailed design development, Flick’s STIRLING and LIBERTY 4 SPORTS luminaires were specified to meet both the performance and durability demands of the centre. LIBERTY fittings, tested to DIN 57710 Part 13, are ball-impact resistant and ideal for high-activity zones like the sports hall, while the STIRLING range delivers sleek, efficient lighting in training spaces. With LIBERTY operating at 150 Lm/W and STIRLING at 131 Lm/W, the final installation not only enhances user experience but also ensures long-term energy efficiency and sustainability throughout this landmark community facility.
