Applewood Grove is Sandwell Council’s newly renovated social housing using Flick Lighting’ VERI-FI wireless emergency system.

The Brief

The Building Safety Bill that is currently progressing through Parliament is one of the most important pieces of legislation to have been proposed following the fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017. The intention with this new legislation is to introduce enhanced regulatory regimes for building safety and construction products. Sandwell Council are taking the first step towards improving their building safety by installing our lighting with added VERI-FI emergency system. This is the first project for Sandwell Council that we have installed our VERI-FI Wireless Self-Test Emergency System that instantly reports back any emergency lighting issues to help make maintenance as easy as possible.

The Solution

For Applewood Grove social housing, Flick Lighting supplied both interior and exterior lighting, many of which had the additional VERI-FI emergency option. The project involved various spaces including entryways, corridors, stairwells, lifts, communal and external areas. In total, over 185 new lighting fixtures and VERI-FI systems were fitted on the property.

‘Having worked with Sandwell Council for over 20 years, I am delighted that they have chosen Flick Lighting for this refurbishment and our new product VERI-FI. Our aim is to help improve and implement a wireless emergency lighting strategy to improving there building portfolio’.
