THE BRIEF
WV Active Aldersley is a comprehensive sports facility offering an array of activities. As well as a modern gym, the centre has an exercise studio and spin studio with state-of-the-art equipment and an outdoor track for athletics and cycling.
The project for Aldersley Leisure Centre came about due to our on-going partnership with Wolverhampton Council and is split into two phases. The outdoor track is phase one, with phase two currently underway.
THE SOLUTION
The leisure centre’s current lighting had reached life expectancy, becoming inefficient and difficult to maintain. We installed 33 of our marine grade LED Sports Floodlights and designed new bespoke bracketry to house the lighting enabling us to use the existing columns. Our floodlights have a 10-year warranty, and each light can be dimmed and individually controlled remotely by mobile technology giving them 35% energy saving. This means the clubs running and maintenance costs are reduced, and their carbon footprint is improved.
